Tank abandonment

Shore Environmental, LLC is certified by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for residential and commercial above ground storage tank and underground storage tank (AST and UST) tank abandonment activities.

Residential and commercial underground storage tank (UST) abandonment can be the perfect solution to a potentially costly and hazardous problem. The most common scenarios warranting the "in place" abandonment of a UST include...

• Additional unnecessary demolition and/or property damage due to tank removal activities
• Potential gasoline and/or heating oil product release due to cracks, fractures and/or weathering imperfections which may be exposed by tank removal activities
• Potential structural integrity damage to adjacent supporting structures
• Reduced cost and field activities

UST abandonment activities are conducted by uncovering the tank and pumping any residual product utilizing a vacuum tanker truck. The tank is then thoroughly cleaned and filled with certified clean sand fill. The excavation is then back filled to grade.

We do it right!

Shore will provide all company certifications, residual product disposal manifest and certified clean fill documentation. A report summarizing the activities conducted will also be included for your records.
